bankHometown donates $15,000 to North Star Family Services’ Journey Home Fund

Oxford, Massachusetts — March 18, 2024

bankHometown recently donated $15,000 to North Star Family Services’ Journey Home Fund, a capital campaign focused on the housing crisis in North Central Massachusetts. This donation, made through our charitable giving program, The Giving Tree, will assist in the building of an affordable housing project that will be the first of its kind in the region, where we have deep local roots and a commitment to lending a hand.

“As a community bank, we’re committed to helping our neighbors where we work and live,” said bankHometown President and CEO Robert J. Morton. “North Star is making such an impact addressing this crisis, and we’re proud to support them.”

North Star is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding families safe, secure, and affordable homes where they can live, grow, and thrive. Formerly known as the Montachusett Interfaith Hospitality Network, Inc. (MIHN), North Star started its mission in 2003 and operates the only family homeless shelter in North Central Massachusetts.

“For many years, bankHometown has partnered with North Star Family Services in supporting low income and homeless families in our region,” said North Star President and CEO Jon Hogue. “The positive impact of bankHometown’s support is critical and immeasurable. North Star is so appreciative.”
