bankHometown Launches Drive to Support Local Veteran Organizations

OXFORD, MASSACHUSETTS — May 27, 2026

bankHometown is proud to announce the launch of its annual Veterans Drive, a community-wide campaign supporting two local veterans’ organizations. The initiative will run from Memorial Day through Independence Day, inviting customers and community members to donate items and funds to help local veterans in need.

Through Friday, June 12, the bank’s Massachusetts branches will be collecting clothing donations to support Veterans Inc. and their annual Stand Down event on Friday, June 12, which provides essential services to veterans in need. This impactful event connects veterans with services and resources to support healthy, stable, and fulfilling civilian lives. Donations will help support veterans attending the Stand Down event on Friday, June 12, with a focus on much-needed items such as seasonal clothing and basic necessities. Any donations collected from June 13 through July 3 will be included in a separate donation to Veterans Inc.

In addition, bankHometown will be collecting non-perishable canned goods in its Connecticut branches to benefit Veterans Base Camp, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering veterans through transitional support and community programs. Non-perishable items needed include local grocery store gift cards; gas gift cards for food bank pickups; condiments such as mustard, mayo, ketchup, and relish; baking supplies such as sugar, flour, baking soda, baking powder and sugar substitutes; pasta; tuna; peanut butter; jelly; macaroni and cheese; toilet paper; paper towels; baby wipes and diapers; and pet food. The drive will run from Memorial Day through Independence Day and items can be dropped off during regular business hours at any bankHometown Connecticut branch.

“We are honored to support those who have served our country by partnering with these outstanding organizations,” said Rob Morton, bankHometown president and chief executive officer. “We encourage our customers and community members to join us in giving back to veterans who have given so much.”
