bankHometown Promotes Three Employees

Oxford, Massachusetts — January 9, 2023

bankHometown recently announced the promotions of Jennifer McKenna to assistant vice president, branch officer; Kimberly Sweet to assistant vice president, branch officer; and Maria Thomas to vice president, branch officer.

McKenna, of Danielson, Conn., has been promoted to assistant vice president, branch officer of bankHometown’s Brooklyn, Conn. office. McKenna has 20 years of experience in the banking industry and joined the former Citizens National Bank as an assistant branch manager in 2014 prior to its merger with bankHometown. She was promoted to branch manager of the Brooklyn office in 2018 and promoted again to branch officer in 2019. McKenna is a member of the Eastern Connecticut Center for the Blind, the National Federation for the Blind, the Brooklyn Business Association, and the Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce.

Sweet, of Cranston, R.I., has been promoted to assistant vice president, branch officer of bankHometown’s Killingly, Conn. office. Sweet has 10 years of experience in the banking industry and joined bankHometown in 2018 as branch manager of the Killingly office. In 2019, she was promoted to branch officer. Prior to joining bankHometown, Sweet was employed by Webster Bank and the Washington Trust Company. Sweet holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Rhode Island. She currently serves as Chairperson of the Killingly Business Association Membership Committee and is a member of the Danielson Elks and the Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce.

Thomas, of Brooklyn, Conn., has been promoted to vice president, branch officer of bankHometown’s Thompson, Conn. office. She has 14 years of experience in the banking industry and joined the former Citizens National Bank as an assistant branch manager in 2013 prior to its merger with bankHometown. She was promoted to branch manager of the Thompson, Conn. office in 2014 and promoted again in 2019 to assistant vice president, branch officer. Prior to joining bankHometown, Thomas was employed by Key Bank. Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Nichols College and is a graduate of the New England School for Financial Studies. She currently serves as treasurer of the Northeast Opportunities for Wellness, Inc., and is a member of the Thompson Business Association and the Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce.
