bankHometown to Consolidate Webster Offices

OXFORD, MASSACHUSETTS — July 28, 2025

bankHometown President and CEO Robert J. Morton today announced plans to consolidate the bank’s two Webster offices into its 4 Gore Road location.

Effective October 29, the bank will close its office at 218R Main Street, Webster, and consolidate all customer accounts into the Gore Road location, about 1.5 miles away.

Citing the increased use of online, mobile, and digital banking channels and the bank’s desire to reinvest in continuous enhancement of its overall customer experience, Morton stated in a letter to Main Street customers that employees of both offices would work together to combine the two branches into one and that no jobs would be eliminated because of the consolidation effort. Further, he said customers do not need to take any action to switch from the Main Street to Gore Road office and can begin visiting the Gore Road location—or any bankHometown branch that is most convenient—right away.

Morton also reiterated that the consolidation would not impact the bank’s longstanding and continuing commitment to the Webster community. Over the past five years, the bank has donated nearly $200,000 to nearly 30 Webster-based community programs, events, and charitable organizations, and its dedicated employees continue to lend a hand in the banking community through volunteer initiatives.

“Rest assured that our commitment to Webster is as strong as ever,” said Morton. “We appreciate the opportunity to continue serving our customers’ financial needs from our Gore Road location and will continue to look for ways to give back to the community and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who live and work in Webster.”
